Botox is injected into the areas concerned following a starch iodine test to identify the problematic sweat glands. Most commonly these are the armpit, palms, soles and forehead. The effects can take 2 to 3 weeks to develop but the results last for 6 to 12 months. The possible side effects are vary rare and not permanent. The treatment is relatively painless but local anesthetic can be applied for comfort.
